Shopify Payments is completely unavailable in India. Because of this single infrastructural limitation, Shopify itself has not launched any native, internal payment solutions. Instead, they have collaborated with major Indian fintech players to deeply integrate localized checkout ecosystems, alternative financing options, and custom gateway channels.

Since Shopify Payments is not available in India, merchants incur two separate charges on online orders:
- Shopify transaction fees (0.5%–2%, depending on the Shopify plan)
- Payment gateway charges (typically 1.75%–2% + GST)
