How to Set Up CustomPrint App

1. Initial Setup

Step 1: Complete the Setup Checklist

  1. Open the CustomPrint Onboarding Dashboard.
  2. Review the Setup Checklist.
  3. Ensure there are no pending setup items.
  4. If a Run Setup button is displayed, click it and wait for the setup process to complete successfully.

Step 2: Configure Print Directions & Stickers

  1. Navigate to Settings → Print Assets.
  2. Manage your print direction icons or import the default icons available in the system.
  3. Verify that the required assets are available for use in artwork creation.

Step 3: Add Spot Colors

  1. Navigate to Settings → Colors.
  2. Click Add New Spot Color.
  3. Enter the required color details.
  4. Click Save.

2. Artwork Creation

Step 4: Create Your First Artwork

  1. Navigate to Artworks.
  2. Click Create New Artwork.

  1. Configure the canvas size using the Artwork Details (gear icon in the top-left corner).
  2. Add design elements such as:
    • Stickers
    • Text
    • Images
  3. Drag, resize, and position elements as required.
  4. Verify that design area restrictions are working correctly.
  5. Enter a name for the artwork/template.
  6. Click Save Artwork.

3. Product Assignment

Step 5: Assign Artwork to a Product

  1. Navigate to the Artworks list.
  2. Click Assign Products for the desired artwork.
  3. Select the artwork you created.
  4. Choose the Shopify product that will use this artwork.
  5. Save the assignment.

4. Store Configuration

Step 6: Enable the App

  1. Navigate to Settings.
  2. Enable the App Status toggle.
  3. Click Save Changes.

Step 7: Configure SMTP (Optional)

SMTP Setup

  1. Navigate to Settings → SMTP Configuration.
  2. Enter the following details:
    • SMTP Host
    • Port
    • Username
    • Password
    • Sender Email
  3. Use the SMTP Connection Validator to verify the configuration.
  4. Save the settings.

Note: If SMTP details are not configured, emails will be sent using the application’s default SMTP settings.

Step 8: Configure Preview Mode (Default Mode is Image)

  1. Navigate to Settings → Preview Mode.
  2. Select one of the available preview formats:
    • PDF Preview
    • Image Preview
  3. Save the configuration.

5. Theme Integration

Step 9: Enable the Theme App Widget

  1. Open Shopify Admin.
  2. Navigate to:
    • Online Store → Themes → Customize
  3. Open a product template/page.
  4. Enable the Customize Your Own app block/widget.
  5. Save the theme.

Verification

Visit a product that has an assigned artwork and confirm that the Customise Your Own button or option is displayed.

6. Storefront Testing

Step 10: Test Product Customization

  1. Open a Shopify product that is assigned to an artwork.
  2. Launch the CustomPrint editor.
  3. Customize the product by:
    • Adding text
    • Uploading images
    • Adding stickers
    • Adjusting element positions
  4. Save the customization.
  5. Add the product to the cart.

Step 11: Complete Checkout

  1. Proceed through the checkout process.
  2. Place a test order.

Step 12: Verify Email Review

  1. Open the order confirmation email.
  2. Review the generated artwork and attachments.
