Multistore is a very useful feature in PrestaShop 1.5.x. It allows you to create an unlimited number of different stores or websites within a single Prestashop installation. With Multistore, Management and Control are always centralized and you can sell out your products on different domains/sub-domains sharing the same admin panel.

Following are the steps to set up and manage multiple stores in PrestaShop:

Enabling the multistore option:

  • Log into your Prestashop admin panel.
  • Next go to the Preferences menu -> General.

  • Here you will see the Enable Multistore option. Select the radio button labeled Yes. It is disabled by default.

  • Click Save in the upper right corner.
  • Next go to the Advanced Parameters. Here you can see new multi-store option.

Create a new shop:

Following are the step to create new shop.

  • Go to Advanced parameters -> Multistore.
  • It will open multistote page, click on Add New Shop in the upper right corner.

  • Now you will be in Add New shop screen. Here you add the details for your new shop.

    Shop:

    • Shop Name: Add new Shop name, it is visible to customers and can be changed anytime.
    • Group Shop: You can set the in Group.
    • Category root: You can use the root of main shop or any category of the catalog as its root.
    • Associated categories: You can make particular sub-categories of the main category available in the this shop.
    • Theme: Select aavailable theme for this shop.

    Import data from another shop:

    • Import data: Import data from another store.
    • Choose the Shop (source): Select existing shops from which you want to import data.
    • Choose data to import: Select different kinds of the data to be imported to the new store from the main shop.
  • click Save in the top right corner once you finished.

Setting a shore’s URL

  • Once a new shop is created, you will see a warning asking to create a URL for it. Click on it.

  • Now you will be on shop url screen with following options.

    URL options:

    • Shop: Select a shop which you are adding a URL.
    • Main URL: You can redirect all other URL of this shops to this main URL by enabling this.
    • Status: You can disable and enable a URL.

    Shop URL:

    • Domain: Add your main domain or sub-domain.
    • Domain SSL: It should be changed only if your SSL domain differs from the main domain, otherwise, leave it unchanged
    • Physical URL: Set the physical path to your shop on your server. If the shop is at the root, leave this field empty.
    • Virtual URL: Create virtual location that doesn’t physically.
      Your final URL will be: It generate the final url of your site according to the options filled in above.
  • Next click Save in top right corner.
  • Now click the URL to see if it works.

Create a new shop group:

  • Go to Advanced parameters -> Multistore.
  • It will open multistote page, click on Add a New Shop Group in the upper right corner.
  • Now you will be on shop group screen with following option.

    • Shop group name: Add new Shop group name, it is visible to customers and can be changed anytime
    • Share customers: It allows your customers to use the same login credentials on all shops of this shop group.
    • Share available quantities to sell: It allows you to make particular sub-categories of the main category available in the new shop.
    • Share orders: It allows your customers logged on any shop from this group to see their order history for all the shops of the group.
    • Status: You can disable and enable a shop group.
  • Once you will be finished, click Save in the top right corner.

Multishop Configuration :

At the top of each screen, you will see a small section named Multishop Configuration For. This has a dropdown where you can choose which store or groups you want to work with.

  • All Shop: It will affect all shops .
  • Group: It will affect all shops within that particular group.
  • Individual Shop: It will affect only that shop.
